Place the prepared SD card in the TF/SD slot of the E3, ensuring that the metal pins make full contact.
Download Samsung E3 update.bin (multi-console) and place it on microSD.Note that TransFlash microSD cards will not work.
Right click the microSD card under Windows Explorer and select Format, and follow the wizard to format it to FAT32. Insert an empty microSD via any microSD card reader into PC.It is recommended to label the wires with masking tape or these tabs to keep track of them. You only need to solder to one GND point on the motherboard. Click the link for your motherboard model and solder the contact points of the E3 to the corresponding contact point on the motherboard. Ensure that it is evenly clipped down on all sides.Ĭheck around the edges of your motherboard to find the motherboard model number printed on the board. A new clip should make a click sound if it's in place, but that's not guaranteed. Verify again that there's no tiny resistors in the way, and gently clip the end of the clip on the NOR chip.
Use electrical tape to tape it down onto the board so it doesn't pull at the clip. Most likely, you will have to gently bend or fold the ribbon over to reach the NOR.
I particularly like Flight Simulator games & am disappointed with how few are available for PS3. I've tried a few games & any I'm not keen on or I know my son would like, I pass on to him. I only use it occasionally but it's great fun & a useful distraction during Lockdown. I bought one with several games included, second hand, through eBay. With the release of the PS5 before Xmas, I thought the price of PS3s might come down to an affordable level.
